Anyone Actually LIKE Pop Up Headlights?

I love mine! My g/f told me the other day that she thinks that they are cool. She said she has always wanted a car with em. It looks so bad *** to me, I just can't grasp why so many people hate them!

I like em. I think it makes the car look more smooth when the lights arent in use. And at night I like people can tell it is a sports car from the pop up lights

I love my eyes! Best feature of the car I think, maybe the reason I bought one before I even looked at it My girlfriend thinks it looks like a big smiley face with them up. Ahh well, I think i'm going to give the car to her in a year or two anyway!

I love the lights and so does my girlfriend. Its a little 80's, but I dont care. I would just change the single rectangle light to two round ones, if i could afford the kit.

Yeah, I'm just going to *give* it to her. And the TII swap isn't all tooo hard! I figure in a year she can learn how to drive it, and I'll be anxious enough to work on it again to replace the clutch

I own 5 vehicles, I have plenty to drive. I'll whip out my crotchrocket or my '57 chevy. Orr for the long rides, my '93 caprice (thing rides like air!), and for really muddy days, my '86 chevy truck She'll be my wife soon enough, so I guess giving it to her isn't too big a deal?

I think the pop-up lights are the first thing most people comment about on my car, everybody loves a smiley face! Well, I guess some cars look more like a snarl, but oh well!

Yo,

I'm with you guys. The pop ups are cool. Definitely makes the car look sleaker when they're down. That's why the "sleepy eye" look always bugged me. They're supposed to be flush, ya know? That's the whole /point/.

I don't really mind what the car looks like when they're up, since it's going to be night I'm much more concerned with the light they can throw, as opposed to if the vehicle looks "cool" or not. I think "cool" is able to throw some serious white light a half mile ahead so you can rail those mountain passes at night...

I love my pop-up lights. I kinda want the double round lamp system...but that's not on my priority list of mods to do.

Depends on the car: I really like the smaller round pop-ups of my 1st gen, it's a very classic look for the little sharp-nosed sport machine. But someone in the latest sleepy-eye post mentioned the "barn doors" of our FCs - I think they are a bit too large and unnatural for the rounder-nosed 2nd gen. The past week I've been driving with the manual override in "up" mode so they don't die trying to break any ice upon rising, and I've gotten kinda tired of the square-eyed look that blocks my view of the crappy-weather road.
I would buy whats-his-name's kit if I wasn't needing a clutch and (larger) brakes so bad. All in all, performance comes first.

Most people complain that fixed lights do not give off enough light. If Mazda likes it, I like it! Why spend thousnads looking fancy, when you can spend hundreds, and beat the hell outta the guy in the other lane!

Amen to that rico, although maybe theres an issue on air restriction with them up? Either way, my eyes are staying up all the time! By the way rico, my girlfriend doesn't ask to drive it, I tell her she's going to learn how to drive it!

I like them when they are down! J/K

I really like the look they give the car. I have always wondered what affect they have on gas mileage. Anybody have any numbers on that?

That would definatly be an intresting number, if my car ran I would do such a test. I wonder if anyone has tried such a thing?
