Anybody sell complete short blocks?

My motor maybe needing a rebuilt at some point. It is a S4 13BT JDM motor. However I am not sure I could go a month or so with out a motor in the car. Because it will be my DD in a few weeks. I do have a Motorcycle but they still have their limitations. So I was wondering if anybody sells ported shortblocks, or if there was a better way to handle this?

Pulling, opening, rebuilding, and installing is a 2 day project MAX if you are not an idiot.

Many vendors sell rebuilt engine blocks. You can call them to see if they have a 13BT available.

Ohio is like a 2 day trip for me. It depends on what you got for how much.

I would like to build the motor to put out 325 rwhp. and still be daily driven. I have read that a reliable turbo rotary is a pipe dream.

I have never rebuilt any engine before. The closest i came was rebuilting a 10 hp merc outbroad carb, and i did it wrong,

I do have some questions about ceramic apex seals? is the real only down side cost? Is worth while to put them in a street driven car?

Most builders will build you one and take yours in as a core later...

for a first timer, not so much, especially if you end up needing parts. only a proper inspection will tell you what parts you really need, unless you buy new housings and a master rebuild kit

This first timer can vouch for the timeframe. You will be working LONG days though.

Is the down side is cost? yes. totally.

Is it worthwhile for a street car ? to 99% of the people, probably not.

I got it because I'm doing a complete restore, and planning to keep this car till the end of time so why not go with something last forever ?(assume everything running correctly)

<---- *raise my hand*

Bought completely new housing (all 5), its at BDC now getting some sweet love, the engine is pretty much 85-90% new parts. some of the stuff is still re-usable (will sell it back out soon after I'm done cleaning it)

but again, I want to keep this for a loooong time and I don't want to deal with a rebuild every few years so yeah, might as well do it once and be done with it.

I was just wondering if the only down side was the cost. Pineapple has them for about 500ish per rotor.

I am going to try to scan the book i have that has the info in it.
