Question anybody know what that white wire is?? I just cut it!!!!

i was installing some Fog lights in my car because my old ones got stollen and i was running the wire to the switch through the firewall and through that rubber boot thingy down by the fuse box on the drivers side with all the wires passing in and out of it. well while i was prying the boot i cut a white wire.. it sparked and now my car dont start.. Its gotta be a fuse right? Thats what im thinking but i was replacing all the fuses and there is no luck yet.. HELP!
Thanks guys!

Sure it was white w/o any stripes?

The only solid white wires on a FC is for the radio to front amp, and the main fuse to 30 amp breaker to defrost relay fro the rear defroster.

The white wire is probably for the rear window defogger. It should not have caused a problem unless it took out the 80 amp main fuse on the driver side fender under the hood. If this fuse is ok, then please define won't start. Does the starter work? Are you getting spark? Is the fuel pump running? Good luck!

thanks guys. It was a wire with a black stripe, replaced all the fuses and still nothing. There is no spark so the car isnt turning over. hehe god im probably the only person in the world who could have pulled this one off! Mabye it was just bad timing and it has nothing to do with the wire... well anyway.. my work continues.

the fatty white wire with the black stripe goes to and from the alternator, shorting that out will blow the main fuse. And the car won't do **** but sit there. So check the big fuse and replace it, done deal. If the fuse is not blown then you did not short out the big white wire with the black stripe. All this info is for a 91 though.

Electrical problem driving me crazy.

New to this club and don't know if I'm using this right. I bought '88 rx-7 convertible non-running which I'd plan on giving to my son as graduation present. I rebuilt motor and replaced all sensors and relays with brand new ones. Had EGR computer rebuilt because it smelled really burnt. Ended up getting new EGR computer because damaged in shipped back. Problem I have is no spark from coils. Trailing is reading 0.3 ohms, leading is reading 0.2 ohms. CAS ohmed Ne1 & Ne2 is 205 ohms, G1 & G2 200 ohms. Main Fuses good, mini fuses in cabin are good. Timing is set right, clutch safety switch ohm'd good. Yet when I turn key on I hear main relay click, hear fuel pump running, smell gas from motor. Starter will not engage unless it is jumpered from battery to starter directly. Has new key switch. There's a single black 10 ga. wire with white plug (female) located above starter that I don't know where it goes. It has power when key is turned on. Can anyone please help me get this figured out?

Bought 3 main relays for this car because I wasn't reading any voltage out of 4 pin connector, so I tore two apart that were same brand and found both were wired different. Only way I can get power to pins 3 and 4 is splice into it, but I never installed on car. Have brand new untouched main relay on car. There's a single black 10 ga. wire with white plug (female sta-kon) located above starter that I don't know where it goes. It has power when key is turned on. Can anyone please help me get this figured out?
