Any S5 owners have this problem with their overflow hose?

Like the title says, I've been having a ridiculous problem with the overflow hose from the filler neck on the radiator splitting itself right where it joins to the bung near the rad cap.

So much in fact that the bung itself is starting to take a notch out of the intake plumbing. I've checked to make sure the plumbing is on as far as it will go, as to hopefully keep it away from making contact with the hose, but no dice.

anyone have any suggestions? maybe a rad defect or previous owner used an intake piece from an S4? not entirely too sure as this is my first S5, I've owned an S4 in the past.

Notice the notch mark the bung is putting in the piping.

it's an aftermarket brass radiator, all factory radiators were aluminum with plastic end tanks. the S5 had a removable plastic filler neck that bolted to the side of the radiator and was sealed with an O-ring

what you have is just a poorly engineered aftermarket radiator. you could carefully try to bend the nipple down and solve the problem. just enough so that it clears the intake.

the intake snorkel is correct, an S4 won't even fit on top of a S5 radiator at all(also denoted by the resonance chamber being to the front of the car where an S4 has it facing the engine).

could try heating a small piece of threaded rod or maybe even a ratchet handle and use it to form the plastic around the nipple.
that's how I fit my taurus fan shroud around the upper radiator hose
