Anyone who happens to have or had a bad omp, one quick question. Does your car smoke excessively? Mine smokes not so bad at idle but when limping along at 3,000rpm it billows out smoke pretty damn bad. Anyone else have this happen? Or is my turbo just biting the dust (cuz I know damn well it's not my oil seals this time!)

 

Never had that happen but I suppose you could test it but it would be a pain. You could pull the hoses off the injectors and stick them into a container that is secured and then run pre-mix for the testing phase. Then you could see if it is the OMP.

 

check your crankcase ventilation. it can also cause that and if your OMP is bad i have a spare

 

I know the OMP is bad, it's been throwing error codes for quite a while now I'm just wondering if it's the cause of my smoke or if it's my turbo (which is also pushing some oil through it now) Ahh well, I'll just replace it when I get some money and see how it goes.

 

At least yours failed open. The motor blew in my 89 GTU b/c the OMP failed, and the 90 GTU I got later had a blown motor from the OMP failing.
