I have an infinity basslink in my driver's side bin. I lined the metal on that side wih dynamat and the sub is aimed toward the hatch glass. I think it sounds really good.

Do a search
This is not a good design sound wise. Search and you can find more including pics of people that have done it. Not good for "loading" the sub, wont sound as good as being in the trunk. I know because i have done both.

I put an amp in there.
And also you could put subs in there, and it wouldn't sound bad as long as you didn't leave the lid closed on them, but it is a matter of opinion, a better way that I would do it is to make a box that is molded for in between the strut towers, were the storage bins are and have the subs pointed forward. Because in those storage bins I dought that there is enough air space for a sub.

I've got the storage bins fiberglassed with mdf board on top to mount 10" JL's with 100WRms a piece, this is sealed box no ports. Also, grille cloth that matches/contrasts the carpet nicely. Anyway I think they sound great. Not a loud bass setup but I think it's very punchy and accurate, sounds like it should and quick reacting, not just loud noise. But like I said its not very loud but loud enough for me. Mine's a SQ setup. Have Eclipse top model (couple year old) non-speaker deck, the JL's, Diamond Audio 5006 amp (50WRms*6 powers all speakers), PPI phase shifter, and MB Quart Q line 4" and 6" component sets (titanieum coated, external crossovers). Also the tweeters being pure titanium are said to sound harsh to some but its what it would sound like if your really there. Personally I think they sound fine, EQ is set flat for minimal distortion but it sounds like treble is on high in most cars.
Anyway, if you want pics email me at kulikowm@michauto.com (Don't feel like shrinking down to forum size atm)
Oh and also, amp where spare tire was (hideable), stock speaker locations with crossovers tucked away, tweeters in the middle of the shock towers facing front, and tweeters where the demister grilles were (cut to press fit mdf with grille cloth looks stock).
