I have a 86 N/a GXL

Well on my way to work today my car decided to run only on one rotor... now its done this to me before and it seemd to fix itself. So i know its a Electrical Gremiln.. Im pretty sure the problem is the water thermo sensor being bad or just not being connected. Since ive heard that if the car thinks its running to hot it runs the rear rotor rich as hell. so is there any way to bypass the sensor copletey so i can get the car home ??? any help will be greatly apprecieated
