Any difference between S4 and S5 TII trannys?

Any difference between S4 and S5 TII trannys?

I Am not sure what motor i have. Honestly. I have an S4 body. I need to know if there is any differences in between them cause i need a tranny and im about to buy one.

crossmember is different get the one for the apropriate series tranny, they all bolt to the body in the same place.

gearing is different, '88s and s5's have a different 5th gear

mounting wise is different. the S5 one mount sit more to the back on the tail shaft that the S4

thats funny, b/c i swapped an s5 tranny into my s4 last week (using the s5 crossmember) and it didnt "sit" further back, bolted right up

so if i have an s4 body, get an s5 tranny?

wut if i buy an s5 tranny with s5 tranny crossmember. The tranny corssmember is the thing where the tranny mounts go right? Easy swap?

The s5 tranny has a spring in the shifter box so the shifter returns to center. Well.. atleast my s4 tranny doesn't have that spring. Ya, get the s5 crossmember.

i have a S4 turbo tranny on my S5 and i had to modified my crossmember to fit it because the crossmember sat 3 inches foward to were the holes are
