Any Body Lives close to Mobile, AL wanna help?

I might be rebuilding my engine soon and don't have a clue on what to do?

If anyone have a clue or knows what to do wants to help out or take the lead on this project I will pay to get it done.

Really don't know where to take it to get it done right? Any sugestions?

Please email me back or PM me and let me know. I'm still trying to figure out who all in the south has an RX.

THanks

Murfreesboro, TN three hours away...how u figure. I'm in Mobile, AL its way down south.

If you haven't rebuilt a motor before and you need your car ASAP, you may just want to buy a good core and swap it. Kevin Landers on here sells rebuilt motors at a low cost, though I haven't seen/heard much about how well they turn out, not a good or a bad thing, but I bet of you searched you could find a verdict on that.

i dont really bother with rebuilds. when i blew my first engine i just ordered a J-spec. it hasnt done me wrong and it was a good bit cheaper than a rebuild would cost. ive heard that the j-spec market is in some sort of a drought right now though, so that may not be a good option. plus you have an N/A, damn just thought of that. well if all else fails i know of a few 7s in some junkyards that may still have their motors in them.

Where are they located at and how much do you think they will charge? Let me know where they're located at and I will give them a call or go by to see them. Who knows maybe I can get the hook up. haha

hahaha. i have no idea what they would ask on a rotary. but its a junkyard called AllStar automotive i think. they are out on old pascagoula road. if your heading west its about 1 mile or so before the dog track on the left. theres just a little sign out front so its kinda hard to see. they used to have a bunch of FCs, but they cleaned up their yard recently, the stock is down, but there arew still some 7s out there. dunno if any of them are 89-91s that have engines in them.

Can u believe that ****! I'm still pissed off about that **** man. hahaha

yeah, APS is the worst place to take an RX-7 ever. i have yet to see anything come out of their shop and continue running for more than a few months. they have the worst reputation ever. not only can they not do rotaries, but apparently their blunders tranfer over to all cars. a guy i know took his eclipse GS-T to them for a rebuild, guess what.....it blew up a month later. they got a real bad rep for stealing parts too. nice modded cars would go in and all the nice stuff that wasnt too noticeable would come off and get replaced with old used parts. never ever ever take your car to them.

as far as getting stuff for your car when you live here...the dealership is good for some stuff, the internet is the best resource around. junkyards work sometimes. if you need a hand with anything just gimme a shout.

Yea man I'll be sure to give you a shout if I need anything. I went ahead and ordered some stuff from www.mazda-auto-parts-store.com
probably work on my car this weekend...u know doing the little stuff. Oil change, spark plugs, and flush out the coolent and replace the thermostat and hose too see if it would fix the problem that i"m having with the coolent pushing back out into the external tank!

If the coolant is bubbling into the resevoir, pressurize the radiator and check for any external leaks around the motor. Than check if you have coolant in your oil. Coolant bubbling into the reservoir can be a sign of a
bad seal.

Haha U know it man...I'm trying to do everythign I can within my budget to get this thing running good again. I'm going to replace the thermostat tomorrow to see if it does the job. I did a couple of test today and everythign looks pretty good. No signs of the big 'new engine or rebuild look yet?' but who knows it might still be bad. I need to go get a compression test done on it also and don't really know where would be a good place to get it done at and get what I pay for? Autozone, Mazda, or what? hmm....Well, I'll get back to you on what happens with this baby of mine.

Also, thanks to everyone for the troubleshooting info. Lets hope it works out for me!

I'm kinda clueless on what's goin on now with my engine/radiator now? Today I took the car apart basically and worked on it.

Installing a new thermostat, spark plugs, fuel filter, spark plug wires, flushed out the radiator fluid, and still the coolent light comes on.

Strange thing that i've notice is? You know how I've mention in the above thread that the coolent would be flushed into the external reservior? Well, I've notice that it only occurs when I leave the car running while its parked??? A/C on or off :-\ But when I drive the car for like 10-30 mile/minutes or longer the coolent light does come on and off but when I check the external tank the coolent level looks normal. I even marked the spot where it was. :-\ the add coolent light still comes on and off then also...hmm...I'm kinda stuck on this one.

Anyone knows or have and thoughts on this? PM me or email me at: wickedkin6s44@netzero.net

wicked, are you bleeding your coolant system? ive noticed on my car that you have to bleed all the air out of the hoses and stuff to keep the light from coming on all the time. all you have to do is when you are putting coolant in your car squeeze the hoses until bubbles stop coming out of the radiator or fill spout. it takes a while to get every bit of air out but sometimes thats what has to be done.
and ive been to pretty much ALL the junkyards in mobile. there arent very many 7s around. most junkyards dont even know what an RX-7 looks like.
