Anyone know how to remove the antenna from the motor before I fish the assembly out of the car or some way to force the antenna down? It is firmly stuck and won't respond to brute force.

Background Info- I'm removing the assembly because the antenna stays up although I can hear the motor running when I turn the radio on/off. I recently installed an aftermarket stereo with a correctly wired relay for the antenna. Motor still runs just like it did with the stock.

If it's jammed, you'll have to remove the motor. Once you take the cover off, you'll be able to unwind it. It's going to be a challenge to get the motor out with the antenna up though, so you might have to leave it in and just remove the cover.
