Antenna does work!
I just had a new stereo put into my '88 RX-7 Turbo, and everything went great. Except, that is, that the antenna won't extend anymore. The guy who put the stereo in swears he wired it correctly, but obviously he didn't. Does anyone know if there is something tricky about this? Suggestions on possible fixes? He wants to put in a third party antenna, which I'd rather not do...

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
He failed to install a relay to invert the antenna trigger signal.
He needs to get a standard automotive relay ($5-$10 radio shack and msot auto stereo shops). There are numbers next to the pins... wire as follows:
86 Power antenna/amp turn on from aftermarket radio.
85 & 30 Ground
87 to factory antenna wire (Mazda wire- Ltblue/Yellow)
87a not used.
This is required on most Mazda's with power antennas 82 thru mid 90's.
