another vacuum nipple question
another vacuum nipple question
on s4 N/a ... when looking at the ACV's two vacuum nipples (the pair for the relief and switching valves) ...
when looking from the passenger side, is the one closer to the firewall going to the relief or the switching solenoid valve ?
Thanks,
Hugues -

The one to your left is the RELIEF solenoid operated one. It's easy to prove. Pull the large silencer hose off. Then pull the vac hose to your left off. The air out of the large hose should rise dramatically in output. Remember......Relief = Rear.....the two R's of Rotary emissions performance.
Or pull the rear vac hose off. Feel the vac on the hose. Now reach over and pull the Blue plug off the Relief Solenoid. Vacumm should go away. Either or both methods.
Just remember your two R's and your two T's of emission control. Look in you FSM'S index for the reference to the two R's and the two T's. Look long and hard for them. I'm sure they're mentioned.
