Exclamation another timing question

my question is ... does your timing need to be adjusted when your start modding your engine? if so.. what timing degree do you need to set it at? does modding affect timing significantly? i dont really understand timing much.

engine mods-
s4 NA
130k motor
intake
deleted emissions (rats nest, that air pump, and other things.
open 5th 6th port. (sleeves taken out)

i think thats it.

but yeah i really dont get timing at all. can someone school me on proper adjustment and rule of thumb.

thanks in advanced

Ya don't really need to adjust timing on a stock port NA. But you could clock your afm and add a couple degrees timing for a mild increase.

I'd recommend at least a wide band to see what's goin on, that and an EGT would be better

It's a lotta money for the gauges, and you'd only get a few more hp, but better response.

It's up to you if it's worth it or not, or wing it with no gauges and hope it doesn't blow

Pretty much leave it stock, that's a lot o miles

Kinda off topic but...

Basically the physical equivalent of wiring the aux ports open. You lose a lot of low end torque doing this. It's hurting your performance rather than helping. There's ways of keeping the aux ports functional with the rats nest removed
