Maybe the ignition switch is bad? It sounds like when you first start cranking it, the signal to starter is intermittent, like your backing off the key. Plus you have to hit the key a couple times. Mines like that too, but it starts fine.

And, like 10thaniv said, try another battery. At least have it tested. Batteries can appear to be fine by checking them with a voltmeter, but can still be bad. You cant be certain until you have it load tested.

thats not the battery. sounds like intermittent signal to the starter solenoid. try disconnecting the ignition connector and jumper it to turn the starter and see if problem is still there. could also be a bad clutch cut-out switch

let me know if you need any help, i could drop by and check it out. has it ever run since the swap?

When you not using another battey to jump it.............does the engine turn over using the battery installed in the car? or not. That is not clear from your post.

He included a vid in the first post which shows his attempt to start the car using its own juice. If the Exorcist scared you I would not recommend viewing this video. You have been warned!

And GXL just hook up a hot wire to the tab on the starter and start it then?

Near the Main relay is a blue plug. This blue plug might be by itself or plugged into another relay next to the Main relay appropriately named the Starter Cut relay. In this blue plug lies a Black/White wire. This B/W wire runs down to the starter solenoid. Applying voltage to this B/W wire should cause the starter to turn over in an attempt to start the car. This will help to narrow down the problem somewhat especially if the voltage source used to run to the B/W wire is the battery in the car.

[Sounds like either a bum batt or the starter attach bolts are not fully tightened. Probably the batt.

Check your ground and positive cables. Sounds like it could be a cable problem.

ok the all the connections seem fine but i think its just not getting enough power, cause i can get it to struggle on if i just play with the gas and it'll crank and usually it'll knock the tac out but i went and tightend that and hopefully it should do fine, when i stuggle it on i can turn it back off and turn it on real quick and it'll start a little better and tach will come on. but the power issue, could that be the ignition switch and how do i check that?

The sound of your starter on that video sounded not good. See what I wrote in my first response to this thread. It sounded like one or both starter attach bolts were loose.......or barring that the brushes inside the alt are worn down to a nub. Remember these are just guesses. No warrenty.

its most likely one of four things (in order of probability imo):
1. Ignition switch - test at ignition switch connector by shorting BRN wire to BLK wire
2. Starter cut relay - test by bypassing the relay, short the two thicker wires in the connector
3. Clutch interlock switch - test by shorting connector
4. Starter - test by connecting battery 12V to the solenoid tab
