Another Quick Question

ok guys i put in my new clutch on my 87 turbo 2 and when i put the gearbox and everything back up i couldnt get the driveshaft back in the gearbox....why is that?? is it supposed to jus slide right in or do i have to bang it in??? i tried forcing it, twisting it, even hit it a few times....just want to know if this is normally and tips?? pointers? thanks guys

Did you align the clutch disc with the eccentric shaft using the clutch alignment tool? Do you have the right disc? When I replace my clutches I slide the disc onto the driveshaft to ensure it's the proper one. Even with the alignment tool sometimes it takes a little bit of patience, but in your case something sounds out of whack.

well..

what i did was put the alignment tool to line up the clutch correctly and i stuck the tool inside of the driveshaft just to be nosey and curious and it fit with no problems...what could it be?

Edit: slide the disc onto the tranny.... not driveshaft! Needed more coffee this morning

As far as the driveshaft goes make sure there is no debris in insert, not exactly sure why that is happening.

did that

ok i did that while the gearbox was on the floor and it went on perfectly also i tried putting the driveshaft back into the gearbox that i took out(in the back yard) and it was doing the same thing.....i tried again tonight to put the driveshaft in but same trouble..its not going in at all..can anyone help me please???? need this car fixed and finished soon thanx
