another new guy, who is lost

I am new to the rotary motor, well not really but i have never personally owned one, and my friend owns a 1st gen, so i have helped him with some stuff on his, but what i want to know is, where can i get a 87-89 turbo motor? i have looked around and can't seem to find one and would i need a new transmission or would the one from the 1986 work? thanks for any help

You can get a motor from:

www.rotaryworks.com
www.fc3s.org
www.nippon-motors.com

Just to name a few.

Your transmission will bolt to the motor fine. There are alot of threads on this subject, with alot of info about different aspects of the swap. It would be good to read them.

Ive used one of their motors. The pricing is nice.

Basically all J-Spec engines are engines you dont know anything about.
