Exclamation another help me with idle thread

so I swap the TB from an auto into my 5 speed. they are both s4 na.
the reason I swaped it was because the stock one has the secondary butterflyes plates always open so i thought that was the reason why it didn't idle right.(2k rpm without bouncing)

on the new TB It started right up to 3300 rpm them in about 30 sec it when to 2200 rpm then it just stated there for abbout 5 min. so thats swhen the car was warmed up

so short that green connector and start playing with the idle screw and adjusting tps and I ONLY CAN GET IT IDLE AT 1900 RPM WITH OUT THE IDLE BOUNCING on any lower rpm the idle will bounce.

please help me am I doing something wrong I'll be really happy and satisfied if at least can get it to sit at 1000 rpm with out the bouncing

thanks in advance

I had this problem plauging me for months and I finally discovered what it was. Maybe this is your problem. There is an excelerated choke relay mounted under your airbox on the wall between your front airbox wall and your headlight motor assembly. It's the small black square relay that if rusted internally from coming into contact with water, it will stick not letting your car go to idle.

This makes you mess with the idle which is not the problem.

Take it out, remove the black cover and inspect for any rust damage. If so, replace with one from the junkyard.

Good luck.

So i took this pic and checked #1 which is the smallest and it seems like new from the inside so i don't think this could be it unless is not this relay

Yep, those all look good. #3 is the fuel pump resistor relay. Mine went bad becase one of the relays was not mounted and laying in the engine bay, allowing water to compromise it. So, this may not be your issue.

Go to this link, and select the 1988 factory service manual. Then click on the 04a_FUEL_AND_EMISSION_CONTROL_SYSTEMS_NA.pdf

There is a troubleshooting section in there on high idle speed. Go through and check all the items in the list.
