you mean bypass the fuse from ignition? or run the b+ wire direct to the battery. second option seems like a better alternative to me but I don't know much about wiring.

Yes, bypass the fuse. Like i said, I work on vehicles every day that do not have a fused B+ charging wire, so it's not taboo.

You just need to make sure it is loomed and ran in such a way that you should never worry about it grounding out.

If this scares you, think about this...

You have a 4ga wire coming from the battery to the starter that has no fuse, and that is from the factory.

^you make a good point. so let me get it straight. run the b+ wire to battery bypassing fuse/tee into the ignition switch wire. Basically I just have to cut the B+ wire where it meets ignition switch wire and run a new B+, replace the wire from battery to the fuse block, and leave the other side out of the fuse to ignition switch alone. and of course the battery to the starter (since I have starter issues, might need the relay mod but we'll see).

You can leave the factory B+ wire, just run a new one.

It's simple, leave all the other **** alone, and run a wire from the positive battery post to the B+ terminal of the alternator. Don't think anymore about it and make it more complicated. Just run the wire.

ran a 4 gauge old amp ground that was long enough from the alt to the batt. yup, its charging better. still need to clean grounds though but not crazy bad. spiking to 0.35v sometimes but mostly below 0.2v so its not an issue. thanks guys. I'll redo the wiring to make it look oem though later on. at least its drivable with acc on now. When you don't understand wiring, it all sounds complicated lol. now I know more then I did though.
