a gutted my cats quite awhile ago on my 88 gxl, but recently i took of my mufllers.. haha it was my cheap and temparary solution to making my car sound meaner.. but after i took off theufflers it smells like its burning rich and backfires when i shift at high RPMs.. is the smel just becase its straight exhaust, or did taking the mufflers off do something to it, and is the backfire just from basicaly no backpressure?..
