am I gonna rub it raw

Hey guys... I just ordered a set of four Yokohama AVS dB Ultra-High-Performance All-Season Tires from the tire rack. Size is 225/50/16. Should be about $500 after all's said and done, and the guy just called to see if I was sure I wanted them and sure that they won't rub. anyone out there running similar tires to let me know if they'll rub or not? I've read that 225's are the thickest you can run up front, but I've never run anything wider than the 205's that I bought the car with. I just need to find out before I drive on them and void the warranty. Thanks guys.

I'm glad I caught people's attention and made them read my post, but could someone please post back with their ideas, or current setups? I know this was kind of covered before, but I can't find it in the list.

I know of a guy who ran 225's on the rear with no problems, but have no idea about the front. I am soon to be repacing my rubber, with some hi-perf tires too, so I would like to know as well!

I had an 87 na with TII wheels all around. Ran 225x50x16 with just enough clearance. The fronts would only rub if I hit a good bump with the wheels turned.

I ran 225/50-16 BFG R1's on '87 Turbo II wheels. They only rubbed when I was cornering at close to a full 'g' with the wheels turned hard.

A friend of mine ran them on his 88 and one side rubbed the spring a bit, but nothing serious.

You should be fine.

Sureshot,

Are you running stock front springs up front? cause the 205/55's yoko A403's dont even have enough room for my fingers to fit between the rubber and metal.
