aluminum hood
I'm looking for an aluminum hood for my '89 RX7 GTU. New or used is OK, but I'd like it to be in very good shape. Let me know price and delivery.
Thanks,
Don Lavrenz

Not actually worth the 1200+ you are going to pay for the damn thing. Plus the stock hood was made from a metallic overleigh so that Mazda could balance the car 50/50. If you want to check out aluminum hoods and such check local NAPA and the net. NAPA probably will have cheeper model sets. However, I am not sure since everything I get at NAPA is 50% off on account of my last name (Family Buisiness)

Get the hood, don't let people talk you out of it, you're going to be out of 50/50 anyway since you'll probably strip the pass compartment anyway (since dlx3 is building an ITS RX-7) and it saves a good 20-30 lbs. Besides, 50/50 is nice, but I'd much rather have a 52/48 car that's 200 lbs lighter. You guys and this 50/50 thing crack me up.
Good luck finding one, I found mine on thepartstrader.com.
Cya!

You can get a nice used aluminum hood for $200-450. I would recommend the NA hood because it is usually less expensive, and you don't have to deal with the water ingestion issue.
