I guess I will jump on the FD alt bandwagon as well, I saw a huge improvement in voltage after the install. For me, however, it was quite involved, I had to take banzai's pulley and bore it out a few mm to fit on the FD's shaft. Also you'll need a spacer so the pulley won't rub on the alt. Finally there is some re-wiring that needs to be done, but that's been covered here before, so i wont go into it. In my opinion you should look at the rest of your elec. system to be sure the larger then FD alt is what you need.

as far as fitment goes, anyone have an experience with teh FD alt mod in conjunction with a strut tower bar? is there sufficient room for this upgrade to the larger alternator? or am i assuming it bigger than it really is?

^15v? Where is your PFC getting is power? Straight from the batt or from the harness? If its from the harness, your alt may be overcharging your electrical system. If its from the batt, then I wouldn't be as worried but I would still look into it.
