Alternator rewire or reman ?

Anyone know of or got any links or write ups of how to get more amps out of a S4 stock alternator? Maybe a transistor with an inductor for a load?

I think you can buy an FD alternator and it's pretty easy to make it work. Those are supposed to put out quite a bit more.
Why do you want more amps? Big stereo or something?

Id imagine redoing your alt wiring and cleaning off the existing grounds, and maybe adding 1 or 2 would help a lot.

Anyone know anything about the cosmo alternator? How does it compare to the stock FC? I've got an RE I'm putting in my vert, and it happens to have the alternator still on it...

There is a place that will re-wire your FC alternator for something like $199.00. They will rewire it to something like 135 amps...I got that link somewhere....

Give me a sec to find it.

Found my own answer. 90amps for both 20b and 13b RE alternators.

I wouldn't rewire the Alternator to pump more juice than It was designed to. You'll decrease the life of the Alternator by wearing out the bearings faster. The shaft size limits how much juice your could crank out on any given Alternator.

If you are Interested In a FD Alternator, I could get you a brand new rebuilt one, with neccesary plug (provided you have a s4, s5's are same as s6's), with matching pulley for $155 shipped. Shipping may vary but not that much. PM me for details.
