alternator harness

I got my 91 FC NA with a wiring harness that goes straight out of the back of the alternator connector, and right into the UIM. It causes the harness to bend sharply and the UIM has gone through the insulaton causing a parasitic drain. is there not an elbow that should go here? Did someone put a different alternator on it? I'm out of ideas...

pics might help.

from the description though, it sounds like you are missing something or have the wrong alternator.

the B+ terminal points up, and toward the left, so the harness points down. the other connector is on the top side, so the connector is kind of on top (i think)

I just figured it out shortly after I made the thread.

Someone put an alternator from an 89 929 on it. I have no idea why, but I'm making a new harness.
