alternator belt's

alternator belt's

Anyone else have a recurring problem with your 7 eating alt. belts...in my old 87 base modle i went through 4 belts in a lil over a year and now my "Brand New" 90 T2 just busted one.....just wondering if anyone else has had a problem there..and no im not putting them on too tight cause i didnt even touch this new one

i have been using the same one on mine for a long time
matter of fact, after blowing an engine up it gets donated to the next engine.
going from car to car, lol

sounds like someone is putting them on too tight.

You sure you got the shim on the alternator bolt on right??? if the alt isn't lined up correctly, it'll chew em up.

My TII ate the set that on there now, but i suspect that has something to do with the dual pulley i have on there and the fact that the old pulley had sheeves that were not quite the same size and my dumb *** put the spacer on wrong once!!!!!!!!!

I need to start over with two new belts and see what happens then!
