alternative parts replacement?

so i was wondering around the local junkyard today with my roommate who needed a few misc parts for his s13 and to my disappointment they out of 3 junkyards only 1 managed to have a single 86 base sitting in the back....pretty stripped up and u can tell its been sitting there for a while.....and it gets me thinkin....alot of 240 drivers use 300zx parts as upgrades....(5 lugs,LSD) is it possible to find rx7 replacements from other make and model?....i know rx7 is mazda's flagship so they probably put most of their "goodies" on it from the factory....say maybe MK3 injectors?....or calipers from porshe turbo....etc..thanks

yeah..i found a few turbos in the junkyard....think it might be possible to get it for a cheap price..then have the cartridge replaced....or buy a 720 injectors and have them cleaned/blueprinted......new injectors go for 100 each...i think its a better deal to get some used ones and bring them up to factory spec....

No, you're wasting your time.
Some of the FD3S internals will work, but I doubt you can "strip" them in a junkyard even if you find one sitting there.
Some of the Miata/626/929 interior trim pieces are supposedly swappable, but I wouldn't think you want stuff like that.

You are correct - the RX-7 is the flagship for Mazda.  Their parts are made specifically for the car, and very few pieces cross over with the other (piston) Mazda vehicles.
