Almost Bridge Port idle vid-- on a Street Port
after i swapped in my ported TB (home brew ghetto porting done at school) It hit a 5000rpm wall and wouldnt go over 6.
So i started fiddling with the spark timming, i maxed out advancing it to the stopper on the CAS. It was better, but still hit a wall.
So i took out the CAS and advanced it 1/3 of a turn, put it back in and it was rev happy ever after....
Ended up blowing out bits of my cat from revving it.
Also as an added bonus when i advanced the timing it kinda now sounds like a Bridge Port, well at least in person it does.
Now i have a couple questions regarding my hack way of adjusting the timing:
if it is over advanced will EGT's go way up? i heard its 70-100 degrees per 10 degrees of advancement
Also would my A/F ratio be messed up from changing the timing?
P.S. im pretty sure the gray dust inside the exhaust tip is just bits of the cat being blown out. Someone said it might be running lean and the gray dust in the tip is ash.

Those are cat chunks. The same thing happened to me at night, I ended up firing glowing cat pieces at friends Nissan. I think the whole cat went at the same time because there were a **** ton of little glowing honey combs flying around behind my car and it got much louder after the fact due to a resonating cat converter.
