For all those doing S5 manifold swap.
Well as you can see from my sig, I have successfully completed the s5 intake manifold swap onto my s4. I followed the Carl Davis write up pretty closely, except for one thing; I didn't need the RPM switch to control the VDI chamber. Nor did I require my ACV or Air pump for the 6 ports and the VDI respectively. Because I swapped out my old exhaust for the MT true dual setup, I simply used the back pressure bung on the header, made a little t section to the 6 ports, and had another vacuum line run up to the manifold, where it was split again, to a vacuum gauge and and the chamber. when driving I monitored when the 6 ports come on, which is still the same around 3600. When under harder conditions the vacuum/boost gauge reads around 4-5 PSI enough to open the VDI, slightly early around 5200, but no biggy. Conclusion: no need to control the chamber by RPM, but rather, let the engine do it naturally!! Maybe this weekend I will go to my friends house and use his digi cam to show you the simple vacuum line hook up!
