I've got a 91 n/a, and I'm not sure if the alarm works. When I lock it from the inside the security system beeps but when I close the door it stops and the door is unlocked. When I use the key from the outside and turn it to the unlocke position the security button flashes, but when I turn to the locked position, nothing happens. Could someone explain to me how this alarm system works and how I can set it off to make sure it is working. Thanks in advance.

 

-Depress LOCK button on interior doorhandle.
-Hold exterior doorhandle UP while closing door.

Alarm is set, light should give a series of flashes followed by a single flash.

 

I've actually done that, but my door doesn't lock when I do that, and the alarm definitely doesn't go off after it's been opened.
