airbox question
if i made the airbox mod that i have been seeing around here alot, (tin box separation) if i wrapped both sides of the box in mylar wouldnt that help to eliminate heat soak? i mean mylar blocks like 95 percent of heat dispersment (sp) cause mylar is cheap and easy to find. (ie walmart fireblankets for like 3 dollars or 6 dollars.)
Thanks

I just brought up a similar question in this thread: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/built-new-cold-air-box-observations-pics-527106/ . I'd post this question there to make it simpler.

Is heat soak for an airbox really that big of a deal? Its so far from your motor anyway and i dont see how the air would even be heated all that much by it if it was heat soaked...

Anywho, heat soak isn't a HUGE deal if you have a box separating your filter from the engine bay. However, I don't see how adding more insulation could hurt. But, I have no clue what type of insulation.
That's what I asked in https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=527106 . I'd just keep an eye on that thread.
