Air valve question.

I found a 4 way air valve behind my intake manifold and I noticed two of the hoses were disconnected. I was pondering as to if these hoses are related to my 5th and 6th ports because I don't think they were opening and I could hear air coming from the bottom hose. I connected them and for some reason my idle dropped really low. I adjusted it and the wife came home right before I got to take the car out.

Its on a '89 N/A by the way. Air was going throughout the valve and when I plugged the hose that was hissing with my finger the car died.

Reconnect the splitter to the four oil nozzles.
