Air rushing, LOSE OF HORSEPOWER?!?!
ive always had trouble with my split air pipe falling off my cat....ive replaced it 3 times already and on the third time something weird happened. When im in gear and drivng and i press the gas somewhat hard to accelerate, the car goes nowhere, it makes a loud wheee sound. It like i lost 100 hp, it sounds like theres a hose spraying air on the ground outside the car. I dont get it, like the clutch isnt slipping because the rpms are steady, its just really really slow now!!! It makes a weird air rushing noise and is slow, please help

Is this a turbo, or NA?
Sounds like you lost an intake hose or something....
Also, how can the split air pipe just fall off the cat? It's held on with 2 bolts...

the split air pipe broke off about an inch out from the cat....after where its joined by two bolts and the car is an n/a, abhout 200 miles before this, i replaced the fuel filter.

I agree with the vacuum leak diagnosis. I know April in NY is probably too soon for A/C (if you even have A/C up there) but turn it on and then accelerate. Does the air switch to the defrost vents? Another test- at idle, press and hold the brake. does it gradually ease toward the floor? Final test- use a vacuum gauge. Did you push or pull on a vacuum line when replacing filter or other tinkering?
