air release screw for coolant?

air release screw for coolant?

i was tryingto search but i couldnt word it right so i gues im asking now...my screw that releases the air when burping the coolant keeps coming loose and spills my coolant everywhere does anyone know what i can do from keeping it from coming loose?

It's probably stripped. If you are like me and don't like the phillips screw slot, you can replace it with the S5 radiator drain plug that has a wing so you can tighten it by hand. Whenever replacing the plug after bleeding, rotate it a few turns counterclockwise first, and then turn it clockwise to engage the threads.

hmmm...mine already has a wing plug i screw it in and it is real tight but after a couple days it gets loose again.

Check the threads on the plug. If they look OK, then there may be a problem with the threads in the hole, or maybe a crack. I guess you could also try some teflon tape as a band-aid.
