1000HP.... naw, j/k... really not all that much horse power on a stock car... maybe 1-5hp... but it is still a very noticable difference... I like the HKS megaflow filter... but thats just my taste, I have tried that, ITG, some e-bay brand, and a one of my friends greddy filters (not sure what kind)... I thouight the megaflow felt the best out of those....

This is especially true if you have a turbo car. Do not use JUST a cone filter. You will be injesting hotter engine bay air. I would suggest you get a K&N drop in filter for now. If you really really have a hard on for a Cone filter:
1 build a REAL fresh air intake( aka cold/cool air intake)
2 upgrade your intercooler to compensate for the added heat in the intake
3 both 1/2
You could also use water injection to help out.
Basically the stock intake already IS a fresh air intake so unless you plan on getting another fresh air intake don't mess with it other than maintenance and a drop-in. Your engine needs as much dense air as possible. Hot air is not dense air.....
Don't build a cold air box as that doesn't really work since you have to do the same work as you would for a real piped intake and you're just adding a box thats not needed.
