Air Dam/Intake Questions

Air Dam/Intake Questions
I actually have two questions. One would it be better to remove the air dam to let more cold air into the front of the car (possibly better cooling?). Since the air dam is for aerodynamics would it significantly decrease the cars stability/handling. Two my friend recently put a cone style filter intake on his FC. The problem is he said that the car runs hotter than before and that the reason is because theres too much air getting into the intake. That didn't sound right to me because its supposed to perform better and my guess is that he either has some form of leak with the air or he installed it wrong. Any ideas? Thanks

air dam? what part are you talking about exactly?
As for your friend, there is no such thing as getting "too much" air in the intake. The intake volume/velocity is dependent on throttle. If anything, the new cone intake is getting its air from inside the engine bay rather than inside the fender. Air inside the engine bay is much hotter than the inner fender air.

If you were open your hood I'm pretty sure its the curved piece of plasic to the right of the coolant reservoir. If you were to reach through the mouth of the car it would feel like a plastic wall in between your hand and the radiator.
