An Air Conditioner needed

Hello everyone,

I am the contented original owner of a base-model 1986 RX-7. This model was so basic that it came from the factory without air conditioning or power steering! As summer heat approaches, I am once again considering a method to have air conditioning installed.
My mechanical abilities are limited to the occasional headlight or oil change, and I cannot have any "donor" car sitting on my property. Does anyone have a recommendation of a place that could possibly provide/and/or install a unit, perhaps aftermarket? I will be moving to Nebraska next year but have a local mechanic here in Virginia that I trust.
Thanks for your ideas.

David

i just threw out a complete working ac system because not many people want that stuff. post an add in the classifieds section or look at a local junkyard for the parts. its not going to be fun putting all that stuff in.

If you can find a window unit somewhere and some duct tape then maybe.....

JK JK i couldnt help it.

I would say first find the parts. junkyard, craigslist, ebay(?), or get em new at a parts store. Then Find the cheapest labor you can.
