the insurance company just offered me $835 for my car. arrrrrrrggggghhhhh. i'm gonna flip out and go on a shooting spree so look for me on the news

I got that plus 3 thousand when mine was totaled.
Damn, wish I still had proof, I'd send you a copy to show your insurance company. Of course, I held out for like 2 months. Their first offer was 2700. Oh, and if you buy it back to fix, make sure they don't overcharge. You can get junkyards to tell you what average demolition prices are. In my area it was like 350.

Is that $835 with or without the crack that they are on?

If it had a somewhat decent body and ran well enough to drive on the street, it should be worth around $1,800.

Also, check with your insurance carrier to see what they think. Yes, I know, you probalby don't have collision coverage, but they could at least look it up on their own charts and tell you how much that other insurance company is trying to rip you off.
