AHHHH!! I hate cars..... :/

Well guys, I started her up today to maybe drive the car for the first time. I look in the engine bay to check things out and i noticed some oil. I rev the engine from the TB and see oil **** out from where the front cover meets the housing...

The thing is, I dont think it did that before. It just happened out of know where.

This is pissing me off, I try to do everything right, change gaskets put RTV on both sides of the gasket and it does this...

Probably coming out of the oil cooler lines, or possibly you crushed the rubber o-ring and the oils being forced out of the gap, this can be solved pretty easily by locating where the oil is coming out from, it's either simple, or pretty damn hard. Though, from your explination, it sounds like it's coming from the o-ring behind the front cover.

Then the o-ring got crushed/torn apart/etc. Sucks, now you'll have to tear the entire front cover off

SonicRaT, seeing as how this is a really good explenation of why oil is going everywhere and i had no idea about the O-ring. Can you tell me how many there are and what size they are so that i could go pick some o-rings up tomorrow?

If you're using a gasket between the front cover and the housing, you need to read up on the FAQ on the Mazdatrix site about this subject...

I'm having a similar problem except it's seeping out slowly rather than squirting. I just used RTV with no gasket due to the mazdatrix faq. I looked at the faq again today and I realized the gasket it says not to use just goes over the o-ring. So I'm guessing I was supposed to use the gasket the that goes around the whole front cover. Where do you get just this gasket, I think I see it in an engine rebuild gasket set on mazdatrix, but that's it, and I only need that gasket.

yeah right, if he stuff'd a v8 in there it would have blown a long time ago, v8's have 4 too many cylinders then what a performance engine needs.

Not sure what "oring" is being talked about here, but it sounds to me like the gasket between the front side housing and the front cover is FUBAR. Just replace it...not too hard to do.
