Ask RETed, I heard he could do it for $80, or have one custom made.

you can use a honda civic intake duct in place of the factory tid. it would actually be better to use the civic one because it has less bends and is smoother than the tid banzai made.

i think the last alternative would be to make one yourself (not sure if anyone else sells them)...theres a write-up around here somewhere....but it would be the cheapest alternative forsure...

use the search function. search for titles only.

search for "TID" and or "CAI"

there are write ups with pics on how to make one for really cheap it parts found at home depot or autozone.

Why did you start two identical threads three hours apart?

It's amazing how bad it is... or was...

Most of the custom TID's people use flow much better and cost far less.

slpin - IMO "judging from pic" That filter is way to restrictive and could hinder your boost MAX and SPOOL. Always go far the largest filter possible. If I had that much room over there I would build an aluminum shield box and duct holes to it, and cut some of the bottom out of the car for air flow. I would cut the top to fit a large flat filter and maybe a side as well and then build custom brackets to hold it tight into the sheet metal. Align the inside with thermal fiber. If you have a spot you cant seal with welder use some aluminum tape.

As far as TID goes effective position. I just had an adapter made with a large cone filter on the end. I could not find a spot large enough to fit my RX8 K&N Filter with a 3in TID pipe and my 3in FMIC IC pipe.

PM RETed, or search to make your own.

You can still use your HKS filter, the TID or turbo intlet duct goes between the AFM and the turbo. But you still want a cold air box (Search Vinspeed) or a custom CAI. Otherwise its senseless since you're sucking in hot air, raising intake temps and negating performance.

Slpln: Move the filter OUT of the engine bay, you're just sucking in hot air.

hahah, he actually did, and I think I sent him back a reply the same thing we've talked about - raise in parts prices.

Give me a couple weeks to straighten some stuff out, and I'll serious look into starting up production again...

SureShot, I'd bet good money that the stock airbox is less restrictive than that filter/duct arrangement you have...
