Where do I get aftermarket tail lights from.(clears, carbon fiber look ect.) Any help in my search would be much appriciated.

 

you don't want them. How dare you corrupt an rx-7 with aftermarket tails. Just go for S5 tails (1989+) If you go for anyhting other than OEM, then you should've bought a civic.

 

HAHA. You could find them on the back of a automatic V6 mustang, Or a 4 door automatic accord. Just look for the dragon graphics on the windshield and the mexican behind the wheel. Dumb bastard.

Ahh the token FC aftermarket tail light thread. They don't exist except for a few custom tails here and there. As for the LED's if anyone has seen the set i posted that I am working on I just found the perfect donor LED set for the project. I am currently working on getting six of them for the "s5 experiment"

I will start a thread once i find the experiment to be successful. it's not a true led but it's an 05 tail light that looks like an led and if i can cut and modify the one I purchased to fit the s5, i will buy 2 more and then post pics

pointless is a wrong way to describe LEDs. They light to full brightness 68% faster than standard bulbs or in .45 seconds. Going 60 miles an hour that
s roughly 96 feet per second, compaired ot the 1.4 seconds of standard bulbs, that's approx 90 feet for the car behind you to nitice the brake lights are on, also
LEDs last longer, use less energy, and light colder. they are ahuge stepup, all you'd have to do to keep from the stock look would be to put 3 or 5 behind a rectanguler or circular (depending on S4 or S5 tails) piece of sheetmetal inside the tail light assembly and that way you still get the brightness and instant flash, and other benefits. So do some research before oy uduyb somehting "pointless" even if you don't like the way it looks. I wanted to be mean and flame in my first post an dI think my insult was mild as I respect this community. Oh and btw I'm getting all my side markers, turning signals, brake lights, and even the FTPs to house LEDs instead of conventional bulbs (all the little dots masked with thick distorting plastic filters to look conventional but gain the benefits)

 

you can buy different colored LEDs by themselves for really cheap. They have all the conventional colors, red, amber (yellow), and white. Hell if you put enough in a reflective area you could make headlights out of them but for headlights stick with HIDs or stock.

 

I see some of you very "nice" people left me some very "kind" messages but, I also prefer stock or JDM tails on any import. I just found it weird that they were hard to find on such a (recently made) popular car. SO **** OFF ********!!!

wow welcome to the site. with your grand post count of 2 you shouldn't've of angered the rotary gods with talk of changing the perfect tails of the Rx-7. Welcome to the site and sorry to be mean to you but we hate riced out Rx-7s and weather or not you were going to rice out yours you did not say, but you implied it and it is distasteful. As we drive these cars we do not want others ot think that these are little toys like civics, these are purebreads of the 80s (& early 90s) and they are dam nwell sexy enough as is (and th eoccasional mod that follows the lines of th ecar). Sorry if we came off strong but what you posted was pretty offensive to us in ways different than our attacks. If you get mad at others so easily and retaliate towards fellow members like that so quickly, then maybe you should not be posting on this site in the first place. think about it, it's a webofurm, there are always risks liek that and you should be prepared to take them on maturely.

excuse me, I , the one who did the note about his atitude problem, did not exactly bash him. I said if he wants to change he should've bouight a civic which could be taken factually as most aftermarket parts are made fo the civic than any other car. 2nd I doubt my personal post is what made him retaliate. and 3rd, his post deserved bashing, and when you deserved it, you accept that you deserved it not bash back.

And yes I'm going to bash him for ruining the car that we all hold so dear and turning it into exactly what everyone else thinks they are, RICE. If you saw an RX-7 with Altezza tail lights in a parking lot you'd look at it and shake your head thinking "That dumbass, ruining a car that we work so hard on and love". At least thats what I'd say, the difference is I said it to him and not to myself.

They are not even altezza tail lights man and the LED look amazing you guyz need to stop being such dick heads and keep all your mouths shut if you dont like it dont post about it there is no point it does not have any purpose he did not ask (oh please be a dick a tell me wheter you thinkthis will be rice or not ) he simply asks where to get them who cares what he does to his car i am sure there is something about everybodys car on this site that some one does not like so stop being dicks about it
