Aftermarket Gauge Locations

Ok, I've just come across a little problem. I bought a gauge pannel from 1FastT2 that fits 3 gauges under the deck in my FC, but I can't get all 3 gauges to fit side by side. I've got Greddy 52mm gauges and it looks like the trim around the face of the gauge is just a little too thick. I tried to gently force them in, but I ended up making a small dent in the side of the gauge trim.

I can only think of 2 things, 1: I can try and shave a little bit off of the gauge pannel on the outside holes so that they will fit, or I could try and get the ine that he makes that only holds 2 gauges, but then where would I put the third gauge? I already have 2 gauges in my a-piller pods, do they make one that holds three?

Any help from someone who may have run into this problem, or knows of another way to mount the gauges other than the CF stuff from SMP would be great, Thanks

Yea, the Greddy gauges have thick rings so when I installed mine I trimmed the 2 outer rings so the gauges sit as far left and right as it could to fit the center gauge. It takes a little patience but will work. I don't have pictures before you ask me.
I have Defi now.

What did you use to trim it? Did you just file it down?

Also wondering what you used to hold the gauges in place, when I put them in the panel they are really loose. I don't want them to slide forward when I launch.

Thanks

The gauges come with brackets to hold it in place right?
Some, like the Defi is fitted by a rubber surround that is pushed into the mount.
You may want to use something like that. Find something that you can use where the gauge sits in the hole. I've used velcro (the non heavy duty ones fuzzy side) around one gauge and pushed it into the hole and that worked well.

I used a dremel to file it down. It's not thick so it shouldn't be hard to do.
