Aftermarket Brake kit - here
A while back someone asked about a aftermarket kit. I just found this link today.

You can get something for WAAAAY cheaper than that. Precision brakes offers a 325mm kit using Wilwood calipers for $1350. With losts of those Japanese manufacterers you're paying for the name and for the hefty import fees, they're probably not that much better that it's worth the price difference.

Are they known? Hardly... Have they proven themselves? Not that i've seen.

First off, Grex is from Greddy, not HKS. Secondly, Endless not proven? Jeez, I guess all those racers in Japan using Endless and Project Mu stuff for brakes don't know what the hell they're doing...Just because you haven't heard of it, don't mean they are not proven.

Endless is the top manufacturer for brake components, and they supply nearly every JGTC car on the entire circuit... You had better do some research before you go around making erroneous claims...
I'll tell you what... Next time you see a JGTC race, just pay attention to the large "Endless" stickers on almost every single one of the competing vehicles... Then come back and tell me they aren't known...

I mean I'm sure they are all on the same level... My post was in response to the guy who said Endless hasn't proven themselves, when in fact they are constantly proving themselves on tracks all across the world...

yes and my point was you don't have to pay for the bling to get the performance, Brembo has had it's brakes on top of the line $1million dollar cars but are still semi affordable brake systems. Wilwood also makes affordable systems that most racers use, you don't have to have a sticker on a car to make a good product that just means you are going to charge more for the endorsements and advertising, when you make a good product you don't need to throw it in people's faces for it to sell.

well, to my knowlenge, brembo doesnt make a brake kit for our cars though, so that kinda puts a stop to all the brembo being better talk..... that kinda puts brembo on my **** list! there are a few dozen different manufactureres who make aftermarket brake kits, but only endless, greddy, wilwood, re amemiya, and one i cant think of right now actually make kits for our cars..... and im sure each one is just as good as the other... the only thing that would make one kit better than the other is the size of the rotor, # of pistons in the caliper, and type of brake pads..
but in any case, they are all way over priced! if someone came out w/ a $1k-$1500 kit, i might bite, but $2300 for something you'll never use its full potential for..no thanx.. hell, you can buy a good running s4 tii for that price

My question is whether we even need a big brake kit. I have only experienced brake fade once, and it was just to test the limits. I would accelerate full throttle to 120, then slam on the brakes to 50 then repeat. I think it took at least 3 times to have noticable brake fade. This was with Hawk HPS pads, btw. The only time you are gonna have fade is on a track, where you can use Hawk Blues/Blacks. The guy I bought the car from did that and never had brake fade when he tracked it.
