AFM pstion-TID mod causing hesitation?
Hey guys, well I did my TID mod the other day. I open air vented the fact BOV w/ 1 1/4" check valve(I tried a 3/4 but the opening was too small and I could hear the comprsr surging). Sounds and works great now.
The AFM is turned ccw 90deg. and slightly angled up. From what I've read here it really doesn't matter what angle it's at but now I'm getting some hesitation in the low rpm's under load. Not the 3800rpm one that I also have but around 2500-3000. My A/F meter shows lean when it happens.
Is the cone and TID just so good that the factory ecu can't compensate or is it from the angle of the AFM. Anyone have some suggestions. I know, try moving the AFM... I made some killer brackets for it the way it is now. I might try putting it back 90 degs clockwise but I don't think I can do anything about the angling up since the turbo inlet is so low.
Anyone have some words of wisdom for me?
Thanks, Scott

I would not recommend doing this with a 1986-1988 Zenki FC.  Gravity affects the flapper door, so this can cause hesitation.  Have either the black plastic top or the ribbed grid side up to minimize problems.

Thanks Ted, I'll give it a try.
BTW, Thanks again for the good service on the AFM adapter. The car is screaming now. So much so that the clutch is overwhelmed at high rpm's. A new one is on the way. I can't wait to take it to the strip w/ the new clutch.
