I need to replace the AFM in my 86 GXL and I need to know where the cable that runs off the AFM goes to so I can Disconnect it and replace it.

It pulls straight off the afm. It is held with springs on the sides of the electrical plug. DO NOT TRY TO UNSCREW THE CONNECTOR. EVER. There are folk who have done that and ruined the afm. Not I.

Best of luck with your ongoing banjo bolt vs pulsation damper. There's a lot of humor in that thread and the other thread dealing with light weight rotors/airflow etc.
