hmm... $400 for two HP ones... --- I wonder if they will perform and sound better than my Racing Beat mufflers...

EVERYONE says that my exhaust sounds like a bike with a baseball card in the spokes... pisses me off royally.

That doesn't look like it is worth it. I don't know that much about muffler technology but i don't think it is any better than a straight through muffler with a properly sized pipe diamiter.

I would bet some cash that they are playing off of those intake gadgets that "Spin the air like a tornado" but in the exhaust kind of thing.

I just watched their PROMO vid.

I amd definately going to pull up the rice COFEE can muffler flag on this one.

Their video was full of FnF "snips" also clips from Gone in 60 seconds and various racing scenes(pro not street). They are definately trying to appeal to the honda guys with this stuff.

I also thought it was funny that they didn't have any sound clips of the exhaust on a honda or any other 4 cylinder vehicle. But instead on trucks with large deasil engines which have turbo's which would quiet the exhaust note compared to say an Accord.

I'll have to ask around on wheter I should swap the RB mufflers with these -- I'll ask Don Marvel...

1987RX7Guy, you've heard my exhaust... it's pretty raspy!

your just adding back pressure. just get a straight thru preforated type steel wool packed muffler i.e. magnaflow.

I would take APEXi over magnaflow any day.

Unless they have good models unlike the ones that I have heard.

I know you do, but you even said yours was deeper... prbobably because of the port difference, Intake Manifold, whatever.

Well you do have a ITO port in that biotch which is kinda BIG.

But it doesn't sound raspy. YOu need to listen to a cork sport exhaust. THen you will know what raspy is. Or even MAX"s magnaflows.

I think mine will sound way shi**ier than both of yours, for now it will be a stock mani, with a downpipe to a N1 single. I should put a huge sign that says, "PLEASE PULL ME OVER OSIFER"

it looks like the tornado thing except for exhaust, but it looks like it might work

aside from the horsepower gain, i think the temperature drop would be a really good feature on the turbo rotary. temp is high on rotaries, especially with turbos, and this thing says it lowers EGT by a couple hundred degrees on piston engines. i'd like to see what it does for a rotary.

If you think this is better than anything else out there can I sell you a very nice 88 gxl? it just needs a motor and a tittle. I can let it go for 4k dollars

i didnt post this thread in search of ignorant comments. if you have no input why are you responding? dont assume its crap cause its different. then your just like all the anti-rotor idiots. if you look at the design, (according to the website) it's supposed to reduce backpressure, not raise it, and reduce EGT's. whats wrong with that? is it rice because its not an Apex N1? last time I checked every rice burner HAS an N1.

besides, nothings stopping you from coupling this with a regular strait through muffler.

I would definitely have to say that the physics of it is sound. however... I think that it would yeild you a little bit less flow than a straight throu desing... however the cooling "feisability" of this muffler would outweigh the difference and most likely perform better. I will run this by my turbine physics proffessor and see what he has to say... then i will come back to you on this.!

Hmm lets see:

To reduce EGT's you can just remove your catalitic converters and add a header into the mix if you have an N/a.

Nothing wrong with lowering EGT's but that is not going to do anything if your cats are holding back all the heat.

I personally hate the N1's. They are too loud and have a 4.5 tip witch is a freaking ricer can.

I use RB mufflers. straight through and NOT loud at all.

looks like a gimmick to me. they even have a chick in the testimonys (come on...), and no comparisons against stock mufflers. im sure you will have the same performance gains with an e-bay coffee-can. They didnt even say how good this was at muffeling sound.

just get a stright through muffler thats made of CF and save some weight!

Hmm, I wonder how this would work for throwing flames. In theory, they should go farther and be more accurate due to the rifling action caused by the muffler right. Just like a bullet through the barrel of a gun.

You could be a flamethower sniper.

But seriously, I can't imagine those really do anything or every exhaust company would make a version.

Product testing on rotarys.......maybe somebody can buy one so we can MELT IT!

Also, keeping the temp of your exhaust is going to allow for a faster exhaust velocity. At least that is what I have read. I have been unable to find proof it it.

It may help with temps on piston engines. But like Wankel7 said, I think a rotary would melt it in a couple of months.

How it supposedly works:

"The incoming exhaust air stream is rapidly expanded and split via an airfoil cone with an orifice, similar to a jet engine. The outer air stream accelerates as it recombines with the inner air stream. The air then begins to spin, due to the velocity and air transfers. The recombining of the air streams creates a vacuum that both, muffles the exhaust sound and increases the exhaust flow."

Sounds like a load of BS to me. Anything that basically promises something from nothing usually is.

Besides, even if their claims are true, if you look closely at the dyno graph you'll see their 6.7L race-tuned, methanol-sucking V8 only gained ~25 peak hp at 7500rpm, up from 780hp. That's a huge 3% gain!

however if those numbers are true, then it didn't gain that 3% hp over another exhaust system. they compared their muffler with a straight pipe and saw that increase. that might mean something.
