Talking Advice On The Netative Battery Cable....help ! !

OK, I KNOW THE BATTERY SHOULD BE GROUNDED TO THE ENGINE, BUT WHAT ABOUT THE SMALL WIRE COMING OFF THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE ? IS THAT A CHASSIS GROUND AND COULD IT BE THE CAUSE OF SOME INTERMITTENT ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTIONS IF IT IS NOT GROUNDED...AS USUAL THANKS GUYS...

Maybe I'm completely wrong, but the small wire comes off the positive terminal and leads to the alternator...Unless someone has added another ground to your system, you should not have a 2nd negative connection.

stop shouting! (seriously its hard to read in all caps dont do that)..... its not a chassis ground... the only thing i can think of it being is a coil ground, most rx7's if any stock do not come with a small wire from the - terminal, must have been something a previous owner did to it

I've got a similar ground on my 88 vert. About a 10 gauge going from the battery negative to the chassis.

Thought it was stock until now...
