Advice on installing the engine

This is my first engine install on a 87 TII, I have the precat on the engine and the transmission in the car. I've tried but failed to align the transmission, exhaust and the engine mounts up all at the same time. Should I bolt the engine mounts in the car first? Any thing else I should know?

Thanks in advance.

From: Smiths Falls.(near Ottawa!.Mapquest IT!)
Take the transmission OFF the car.(read about the stick shift Bolts)
Now,you have TWO choices,Join them up on the ground or Slip the Engine in first.
If the engine is IN,then you can Lean the engine up,*** Down. Then the Transmission will slip into the Engine as slick as Worm poop.(you have to have the cross member off the trans..it is easier to handle.).
By the way, since you have the engine Off,I would be Replacing the Pilot bearing and also replace the Throw out bearing on the Trans..you Do NOT KNOW how frustrating it is to Get ALL this stuff together and hear a GRRRinnd!,when you Start to put it in gear.,.
anyways,if you Need me,PM me..I'll talk ya through it.It is Cold outside and I am just Sittin here doin Nothing!
