Adjusting Throttle Cable

Adjusting Throttle Cable
I am going to adjust my idle once and for all, now that all fuel leaks and vac leaks are fixed. my question is this...
before i do anything with the variable resistor or TPS or anything else, i need to adjust my throttle cable on that nut on the back of the TB. I had come across once how to put that in the right spot by having the intake elbow off and seeing the butterfly things inside there... where should they be? a little open? alot open? open throttle? dont touch the throttle? i figure i need to have that right first before I do anything else.

The throttle cable:
Should not be TIGHT.
Needs to have slack.
Doesn't need super slack!
Use your finger as a judgement. Tighten cable until you have a little slack, but not TIGHT so that it is pulling the butter fly valves open in any shape or form. If it starts to open the valves, your idle will go up! Idle is controlled by the idle screw, not the throttle cable.
