You know, I think you're right - it's been a while since I've had that problem, and now that I think about it, I wired up a kill switch. Instead of running it to the fuse box to interrupt that whole branch, I just interrupted power to the fuel pump. That's why I was getting it to start with the power interrupted.

I apologize profusely, you are correct!

you are SO subtle Joe!..got that "magic" touch!..heh,heh!.. Step one,Take the plugs out, replace ,clean Or Whatever..Crank the engine over 30 sec without Plugs in..put plugs back in,put the Plug wires on Correctly, with the Egi Fuses in place.it should Start up.IF everything is Ok..if not then Try it again..From Step ONE..(this Is If indeed the car IS flooded).

That'll do it. It took about a mile and half to get the engine going for me last time. Most of that was due to leaving the big port on the back of the LIM open, though.

Or it will jump start your plug with 30,000 volts

pull that EGI inj. fuse....FLOOR the car and crank untill ALL the mist stops poring out of the spark plugs holes (with spark plug removed) pour a little ATF (automatic tranny fluid) to help....the 2 stroke will do the same thing...build back compressioin you lost since the gas is killing the seal the oil usually makes...re-insert spark plugs, EGI inj. fuse and you should be fine...id buy new spark plugs now also.

i floored the car for 30secs, tried to start it....

nothing....

the gas REAKS of fuel, absolutely reaks....

i'm thinking take plugs out, crank over for a while, put 2cyl in and try to start it, if no avail, oil change and go from there, or?...

can i just push start it?, i'm sure it'll start that way....

but i heard it's REALLY bad for a rotary....

by the way, i cleaned my plugs so they are basically BRAND NEW....

( metal wheel )....

I don't know why it would be bad for a rotary, you're not asking the engine to do anything it's not designed to do. Just make sure you put some oil in the plug holes first so it's not running dry.

I understand where you're coming from though - the whole rx7forum is the same way. Sometimes when they add mods, it all goes to hell.

(just kidding moderators! )

ok, so i took the plugs out, deflooded the engine, put some 2cyl oil in the bottom plugs ( same one's i took out to deflood ), cranked it over for a sec with the EGI out, put everything back, cranked it, aaaaaaaaaaaand....

nothing....

so i did an oil change, deflooded it again, checked plugs, for spark, everything, no spark on the bottom wires, spark on the top one's, i did EVERYTHING, put it back together, aaaaaaaaaaand....

nothing....

i'm shot guys, i have no idea whats wrong with it, there's a TON of white mist everytime i deflood the engine, i wait till it's all gone, replace plugs, wires, all of it but it still wont start, i have no idea what's left to do, thing is, why are the trailing coils firing where the primaries arent?, ( the upper plugs/wires fire, lowers dont ), are all 4 spark plugs supposed to fire?, all 4 injectors supposed to fire?...

any idea's!?..

My car was rediculously rich when I first started it because I put my connectors for primary and 2ndary injectors switched. 550cc primary and 1600cc 2ndaries. My friend had built my megasquirt and all the wires were the same color, and the primary wires were longer than the 2ndaries

i wish it was that easy but i can tell which clips go to which injectors, because my secondaries have resistors soldered inline....

I think the leading spark does most of the work, i had my FC running on leading spark only for ages with out even noticing, i think the trailing spark more or less completes the burn. so i'd figure out why you've got no leading spark

hey archangels a compression start is when you have somebody push your car and you (pop the clutch) ever heard of that but if you slowly/ normaly release the clutch it will start your car. but your keys have to be in the on position
