Exclamation "add coolant" light comes and and buzzzing wont shut the $#%& UP!!!

so when i first turn my car on, its fine, then about 15-20sec later that damn "add coolant" light comes on along with a consistant buzzzzzzz, makes me ****** go crazy, so i was about to just cut the wire that go's to the buzzer but then was thinkin, wait, maybe its doing this cuz something is going wrong, was thinkin maybe the coolant temp. switch..if SO wheres it at? cuz cant seem to find it in the haynes manual, maybe its called something else??? could somebody please just tell me what is going wrong here, it just started doing this one day....it seems that it shuts up after i drive for like 10 minutes or so i assume cuz engine is heated up by then or so?...could also maybe be my thermostat? im just trying to shut this thing up...REALLY makes it so i dont even wanna drive its so damn annoying..

its possible u have air traped in the radiator right near the top switch.. if thats the case it will read low coolant untill all the air is expelled from the system..

I would start by bleeding yoru cooling system and topping it off

(make sure u have some in your resivoir too)

search, more then likely a air bubble in you coolant system.

aight, well thats easy, i'll try that and hopefully that buzzin go's off, that **** was goin on like almost my whole ride back from pittsburgh to cleveland was NOT fun

You need to add coolant directly into the radiator cap while the engine is cold. That'll fix the problem right away. But it might come back (see below).

Right now when your car warms up the thermostat opens and coolant flows over the coolant sensor in the radiator.

This problem could indicate another problem: After your car warms up the coolant expands and the excess goes into the coolant reservoir. As the coolant contracts a vacuum forms to suck coolant back into your radiator UNLESS:
  1. A coolant seal leak is pushing too much coolant into your reservoir. SOLUTION: engine rebuild (verify problem with forum and/or mechanic first)
  2. Part of your cooling system is leaking, preventing a vacuum from forming. SOLUTION: check your cooling system parts, hoses, hose clamps, etc. carefully for leaks; you may need a shop to do this
  3. Your car is running too hot, so the coolant expands too much (1/4 on the temp gauge is normal). SOLUTION:
    1. Make sure you have an OEM thermostat (go to www.rx7.com or your local Mazda dealer), not an auto-store thermostat.
    2. Burp the coolant. Someone else might know a better way, but I just seal all the caps, squeeze a hose repeatedly, top off coolant through radiator cap, repeat until no more coolant will fit. You might have to drain some coolant from the reservoir because topping off the coolant will actually put too much in there; the excess will flow to the reservoir next time you drive.
    3. Check your fan clutch: it should provide decent resistance when you try to turn the fan, as if it were filled with peanut butter/honey/molasses. If it's bad, have a mechanic verify then get a new fan clutch or a very high CFM electric fan. I got a Black Magic 2800CFM fan on my last RX-7. Still not as powerful as the stock fan and it tended to drain the battery/alternator.
    4. A bad radiator or water pump are also possibilities, though less likely than the above.
  4. Your coolant return line is clogged. SOLUTION: Remove it and run some hose-water through it. You can also try blowing through it. Wash out the sediment from your coolant reservoir, if there is any. Repeat weekly as it keeps coming from your radiator. In the future only refill your radiator with distilled water and antifreeze, 50:50. No tap water, since it contains dissolved sediment.

#3 is most likely, then #2, then #1, then #4.
#4 is easiest to fix, then #3, then #2, then #1.
I'd replace your thermostat, then check for sediment, then check your fan clutch, then go from there. You'll probably want to replace your thermostat anyway, if it's not OEM.

well i flushed the coolant and refilled and the buzzer addcoolant light is off now, thank god! ha thanks guys for the help

and be sure that the sensor cable is hooked up, mine falls off every now and then and sets off the add coolant buzzer.
